Daveedu (David) is from Malleduvalasa, a remote tribal village. He has to walk 5 kilometers and then travel by auto rikshaw to reach Asha Kiran. His father is a manual worker, and his mother works as ayah at the village school. He has a younger sister who is in 5th grade now. The village school is only up to 5th grade. In order to continue their studies, some children walk for one hour to the nearest high school. Daveedu is in grade 10 now. He shares a room with 5 other children in the home. He has a bed and place to keep his books and clothes. He enjoys the routine at Asha Kiran. He is excelling in his studies at school. His favorite dish is chicken fried rice. He enjoys playing volleyball every evening. He has a few great friends, Ashok being his best friend at Asha Kiran.
